LGBTQ+ VR Museum Experience
At the Citizen Sustainability Summit you can immerse yourself in state-of-the-art VR experiences and exhibitions.
From September 19-21 the summit presents the award-winning “LGTBQ+ VR Museum”, developed and curated by Psychophysiology Researcher (PHD) Thomas Terkildsen (DK) and Senior XR Specialist Antonia Forster (UK).
The "LGBTQ+ VR Museum" is the world's first virtual reality museum dedicated to celebrating the stories of LGBTQ+ people. In the virtual museum, you can explore different emotive real-life objects - from wedding shoes to a teddy bear - chosen by people in the global LGBTQ+ community.
The items are accompanied by narratives told by the creators themselves on why these objects have become important symbols of their LGBTQ+lives. The gallery consists of 3D and 2D illustrations and artwork by LGBTQ+ creators all over the world.
2022 is a special year for the LGBTQ+ community. It marks the 50th anniversary of the first UK Pride march (1972) and the 20th anniversary of ‘Memorial to a Marriage’, the world’s only LGBTQ+ marriage equality monument, created by NY-based lesbian artist, Patricia Cronin. The monument is also part of the museum experience.
The museum is open September 19-21 from 12.00AM-4.00PM. You can sign-up on location on The Chelsea Market Passage/ The High Line to try the experience.
